正面描述 Brown intaglio-printed note on cream paper, with a portrait vignette of Queen Juliana of the Netherlands in an oval frame at left, set against a fine guilloche underprint. Denomination numeral '10' appears in the upper-left and lower-right corners, flanking the central bold letterpress inscription 'NIEUW-GUINEA / TIEN GULDEN', while a finely engraved bird-of-paradise amid foliage occupies the right vignette. The date '2 JANUARI 1950' and the legend 'WETTIG BETAALMIDDEL' run along the lower border, with the ministerial signature line below.

备注

De Javasche Bank was already a dead institution by the time this note entered circulation. The bank had been nationalized by the Indonesian government in December 1951 and renamed Bank Indonesia — yet notes bearing the old name, printed in Haarlem and dated 1950, continued as legal tender through the transition. The colonial brand outlasted the colonial administration by several years of practical use.

Joh. Enschedé en Zonen had printed currency for the Dutch colonial territories for decades, and their work on this series is technically accomplished. The paper quality tends to hold up well, though notes that circulated heavily in Java's humid conditions often show accelerated foxing along the edges.
