Obverse description Central crowned quartered shield bearing the emblems of the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth: the Polish eagle in the first and fourth quarters, the Lithuanian Pahonia (mounted knight) in the second quarter, and a bull passant in the third quarter, all within a circular beaded border. The royal crown surmounts the shield with its arches and cross finial clearly rendered. A circular Latin legend surrounds the entire design, reading the king's title abbreviation. The composition is compact and heraldically precise, characteristic of late eighteenth-century Polish minting practice.
