| Opis rewersu | Central value inscription GROSSI X within an elaborate interlocking geometric cartouche composed of rectangular and curved architectural frames. Two crossed oak branches — the heraldic emblem of the della Rovere family — appear at the apex of the design, flanking a small heraldic device. The letters L, X, F, and G are distributed symmetrically within the cartouche panels, and the mint name EVGVBII appears in the lower exergual area within a recessed band, all enclosed by a beaded rim. |

Francis Maria II della Rovere ruled Urbino for half a century but spent much of his later reign negotiating the inevitable — the duchy had no legitimate male heir, and the papacy was circling. He abdicated in 1621 in favor of direct papal annexation, making this a coinage produced under the shadow of dynastic extinction. The Gubbio mint operated as a secondary facility to Pesaro, and its output was consistently smaller in volume, which accounts for the relative scarcity of surviving Gubbio-struck pieces versus their Pesaro counterparts.
