| 正面描述 | Central field displays the quartered heraldic shield of Grand Master Antoine de Paule, combining the arms of the Order of St. John (a plain cross on plain field) with his personal de Paule family arms. The shield is surmounted by a grand master's crown and flanked by decorative mantling. A beaded inner circle surrounds the shield, with the Latin legend F·ANTONIVS DEPAVLA·M·M·H·H distributed around the outer field, identifying the issuer as Fra' Antoine de Paule, Master of the Hospital. |

Antoine de Paule served as Grand Master from 1623 to 1636, a period when the Order's copper coinage was increasingly aimed at practical Mediterranean commerce rather than ceremonial use. The grani denominations of this era were workhorses of the Maltese local economy, circulating alongside Spanish colonial copper in an island dependent on both Hospitaller administration and Sicilian grain supplies.
KM#53 is occasionally found with significant flan irregularities — a known characteristic of the Valletta mint's copper production in the 1620s, where planchet preparation was inconsistent.
