Reverse description The Haitian coat of arms occupies the central field, depicting a palm tree flanked by an array of crossed cannons, cannonballs, flags, and other military trophies, with two cannon wheels at the base. A ribbon scroll beneath the arms bears the national motto L'UNION FAIT LA FORCE. The legend LIBERTE EGALITE FRATERNITE curves along the upper periphery. The denomination 10 GOURDES and date 1971 appear in large characters in the lower field, flanked by the fineness mark 1000 to the left and the mint identifier IC to the right.
