Opmerkingen

The Banque Nationale de la République d'Haïti operated under a dual mandate throughout this period — functioning simultaneously as both central bank and government treasury, a structural arrangement that gave the executive branch direct leverage over note issuance. The long print run spanning 1951 to 1964 crossed two significant political ruptures: the fall of Paul Magloire in 1956 and the early consolidation of François Duvalier's regime, yet the note design remained unchanged throughout, which was itself a deliberate choice.

ABNC supplied Haiti through much of the twentieth century, and this series was engraved using their standard intaglio process on security cotton stock. The 185 x 80 mm format is notably elongated even by mid-century standards.
