正面描述 The note is dominated by a large oval guilloche border enclosing the central text, with ornate foliate scrollwork at the corners and sides. The denomination numeral '10' appears in cartouches at the left and right flanks of the oval, while a Swiss cantonal coat of arms surmounts the frame at the top. Two manuscript signatures appear below the central text, attributed to the Direktor and the Präsident respectively, with the emission date inscribed along the lower arc of the oval frame.

备注

Die Bank in Glarus was one of several cantonal private banks that proliferated in Switzerland before the Federal Banking Act of 1881 consolidated note-issuing authority. By the 1850s, Switzerland had over thirty such institutions, each printing its own notes with little regulatory oversight — a situation that produced chronic small-change shortages and widespread public confusion about relative note values.

Glarus is among the rarer issuing authorities in Swiss 19th-century private bank paper. The canton was small, its economy largely textile-based, and circulation of these notes would have been tightly regional. Very few examples have survived in any condition.
