10 Francs with IEOM

The IEOM was established in 1966 to manage currency for France's Pacific territories after the CFP franc was separated from the metropolitan French financial system. This 10-franc piece circulated across French Polynesia, New Caledonia, and Wallis and Futuna — three territories with no shared land border and wildly different economies, unified only by the pegged CFP franc, which has maintained a fixed rate to the French franc and later the euro without interruption since 1949.

The series ran across four decades with minimal design revision, an unusual longevity for a colonial-era instrument outlasting decolonization itself.
