Obverse description Bare-headed portrait bust of Prince Rainier III facing left, rendered in high relief against a polished field, enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The engraver's signature P. TURIN appears below the truncation, with the date 1950 in the exergue. The circular legend surrounding the portrait reads RAINIER III PRINCE DE MONACO. The portrait displays a youthful, naturalistic effigy characteristic of Pierre Turin's medallic style.

Reverse description The Monegasque crowned coat of arms — a lozenge-patterned shield divided fusilly in diagonal bands — is displayed centrally, topped by the princely crown. The denomination 10 to the left and FRS to the right flank the shield. The motto DEO JUVANTE appears in the lower exergue, separated from the central device by a beaded border. The word ESSAI, denoting the trial or pattern status of the piece, is incorporated into the reverse legend.
