Obverse description Bare-headed right-facing effigy of Prince Rainier III of Monaco, rendered in high relief with fine detail to the hair and facial features. The portrait is set within a beaded inner circle. The circular legend reads RAINIER III PRINCE DE MONACO along the upper periphery, while the engraver's signature P. TURIN and the date 1950 appear in the lower field beneath the bust.

Reverse description The crowned shield of Monaco occupies the central field, displaying the Grimaldi arms of lozengy argent and gules beneath a princely crown, all within a beaded inner circle. The denomination 10 FRS is displayed prominently to either side of the shield in large characters. The motto DEO JUVANTE curves along the lower periphery, referencing the Monegasque state motto, with the word ESSAI appearing as a trial designation.
