| Obverse description | Within the nickel centre, a mounted armoured knight facing right at full gallop, wearing a visored helmet and chain-mail surcoat, brandishing a lance with pennant in his right hand and a shield on his left arm; the caparisoned horse is depicted in dynamic motion. The engraver's signature 'R.B. BARON' appears in the lower field of the centre. The surrounding copper-aluminium ring carries the Latin motto 'DEO JUVANTE' (With God's Help), the dynastic device of the Grimaldi family, distributed around the full circumference. |
