| Reverse description | The arms of Monaco occupy the central field, depicting the elaborate Grimaldi coat of arms: a quartered shield bearing the traditional lozengy pattern of silver and red, supported by two monks bearing swords, with a princely crown above and the motto scroll below. The denomination 10 FRANCS is inscribed in large curved letters across the upper portion of the field, flanked by small decorative leaf ornaments. The date is struck in the lower exergue beneath the arms. The overall composition is boldly rendered in high relief against a smooth field. |
