Reverse description Central design features a square set diagonally as a lozenge within a circular beaded border, containing the bold denomination numerals 10 above the legend FRANCS, with the word ESSAI and two small cornucopia mint marks struck below. The square-lozenge motif is framed by delicate foliate corner ornaments and set within a broad annular band of intricate Moroccan arabesque interlace decoration. The Latin country name MAROC arcs prominently along the upper periphery, while a corresponding Arabic inscription runs along the lower border of the coin.
