Obverse description Central field features an ornate six-pointed star (Seal of Solomon) rendered in elaborate Moorish arabesque tracery, enclosing a horizontal cartouche bearing the AH date 1366 in Eastern Arabic-Indic numerals. The star is set within a beaded inner circle surrounded by a densely decorated annular band of interlaced floral and geometric motifs in the traditional Moroccan zellige style. The Latin legend EMPIRE CHERIFIEN arcs along the upper periphery, while an Arabic inscription identifying the Sharifian Empire and Sultan Mohammed V runs along the lower border.
