| Obverse description | Central design features a large six-pointed star (Seal of Solomon) rendered in intricate Moorish arabesque relief, enclosing a circular medallion at its centre bearing the Hijri date 1347 in Eastern Arabic numerals. The surrounding field is filled with elaborate foliate and geometric ornamental motifs in the Maghrebi decorative tradition. The upper legend reads EMPIRE CHERIFIEN in Latin characters, while Arabic inscriptions curve along the lower and lateral portions of the field within the beaded border. |
