| Obverse description | Central field features the AH date 1366 enclosed within a small circle formed by a doubled tri-lobe (trefoil) star motif, the entire design set within a beaded inner circle. An ornate band of interlacing Moorish arabesque scrollwork surrounds the central device. The peripheral legend, rendered in both Arabic and Latin scripts, runs around the outer rim, identifying the issuing authority and the place of mintage. |

Morocco's postwar coinage underwent a quiet administrative shift in 1947: though the French Protectorate remained firmly in place, the Monnaie de Paris began crediting Mohammed V more explicitly on circulating issues — a small concession that carried real political weight as nationalist sentiment in the Maghreb accelerated sharply after France's wartime humiliations. Mohammed V himself would be deposed and exiled to Madagascar by French authorities just six years later, in 1953.
