Below and to the left, a small seated lion figure serves as the national privy mark of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The denomination '10 FRANCS' and date '2004' appear to the right in the lower field, with the circular legend 'REPUBLIQUE DEMOCRATIQUE DU CONGO' running along the lower rim.
