| Beschrijving keerzijde | A fully armoured Roman gladiator is depicted in dynamic three-quarter stance at centre, standing atop a grassy ground line. The figure wears a visored helmet with skull-like facial guard, scale-pattern lorica armour, and greaves on both legs; he advances with a short sword (gladius) extended in his right hand and a large oval scutum shield raised in his left. The curved legend WARRIORS OF THE WORLD arcs around the upper periphery, and the inscription GLADIATOR appears in bold lettering along the lower border. |

The "Gladiator" branding on this issue is commercial fiction — the Democratic Republic of Congo has no historical or cultural connection to Roman arena combat. It belongs to a wave of silver-plated novelty coins produced for the collector market in the late 2000s, issued under Congolese authority largely because the country's mint licensing arrangements made such commissions easy and cheap to place. The issuing authority is real; the theme is pure catalog filler aimed at European and Asian novelty buyers.
