Reverse description The reverse depicts a richly detailed scene commemorating the Gansabhauet festival of Sursee, Canton Lucerne. In the foreground, a costumed figure wearing a sun mask with radiating spikes and a jester's ruff is shown holding a pole from which a plucked goose is suspended. Historic urban architecture, including a clock tower and guild buildings, is rendered in low relief in the background across both the copper-nickel centre and aluminium bronze ring, evoking the traditional town square setting of the festival. The engraver's signature 'T. EISENMANN' appears in the lower left field. The legend 'GANSABHAUET' is incused in bold letters along the lower rim of the aluminium bronze ring.
