| Obverse description | The obverse displays the national coat of arms of the Democratic Republic of Congo centrally positioned in the field, featuring a leopard's head facing front flanked by a crossed elephant tusk and a spear, with a crescent arc above. Two scrolled ribbons bear the national motto JUSTICE to the left and TRAVAIL to the right, while a third ribbon below the device reads PAIX. The country name DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF CONGO is inscribed in three lines along the upper legend, with the date 2007 at the lower left and the denomination 10 FRANC at the lower right, all rendered in raised Latin lettering against a mirror-polished field. |

| Additional information |
The Democratic Republic of Congo has issued collector coins under the "Banque Centrale du Congo" name since the early 2000s, many produced by European minting houses specifically for the international numismatic market rather than any domestic circulation. This piece belongs to a series reproducing famous paintings in relief — a format with no monetary function in Congo and sold almost entirely through dealer channels in Europe and North America.
Velázquez painted Las Meninas in 1656. It has never left Spain.
