The "English Archer" series issued under Congolese authority belongs to a well-documented category of commemorative struck for the collector market rather than circulation — the DRC has produced dozens of such themed pieces through licensing arrangements with European minting houses, most with no meaningful connection to Congolese history. This particular subject, the medieval English longbowman, is about as geographically relevant to Kinshasa as it sounds.
Silver-plated copper rather than solid silver keeps production costs low while allowing face-value assignments well above intrinsic worth. The KM#208 reference confirms catalog recognition, but attribution to the Banque Centrale is largely nominal.
