| 备注 |
The Banque du Congo Belge continued issuing notes from London throughout the Second World War after Belgium fell to German occupation in May 1940. With the metropolitan government in exile and the Congo itself strategically critical — supplying uranium, copper, and rubber to the Allied war effort — maintaining a functioning colonial currency was a practical military priority, not a bureaucratic formality.
Waterlow & Sons handled the wartime Congo series with their usual competence. The P#14B shares its basic plate design with earlier issues but carries the 1942 dating that distinguishes it from the closely related P#14A.
