The Berlioz 10 Francs was introduced in 1972 as France transitioned away from the older Voltaire type, which had run since 1963. This particular variety — catalogued without signatures — corresponds to notes issued between 1973 and 1974, a brief window before the type was retired entirely in 1978. The absence of printed signatures places it within a specific administrative moment at the Banque de France, not an error or omission.
Fontanarosa was a painter by primary vocation, and Jubert's engraving work translating that aesthetic into intaglio is the real technical achievement of this series. Renaud handled the back plate.
