Obverse description Laureate and draped bust of Emperor Francis Joseph I facing right, depicted in mature effigy with a full beard and whiskers, engraved in high relief by Josef Tautenhayn. A laurel wreath adorns the hair, tied with a ribbon at the nape. The circular legend runs along the inner border of the beaded rim, interrupted at the base by the mint mark K·B. The portrait is rendered in a detailed, naturalistic style characteristic of late 19th-century Austrian imperial coinage.
