Obverse description	Green intaglio print on yellow underprint, with black serial numbers overprinted in red with the word 'BURUNDI'. At left, a vignette portrays a hippopotamus (Hippopotamus amphibius) facing right against a river and tree background. The date 05.10.60 appears on the face along with two signature lines for an administrator and the president.

Reverse description	Green intaglio print with an oval central guilloche vignette containing the numeral '10', surrounded by fine lathe-work patterns. The bank name is inscribed across the top of the note and the denomination 'DIX FRANCS' appears below the central vignette. The printer's imprint is set at the foot of the note.
