Aanvullende informatie

Congo's early 2000s commemorative program produced a wave of themed issues with no meaningful connection to the issuing country — this Alfa Romeo piece being a straightforward example. The coins found their market entirely among automotive collectors in Europe and Japan, not in Congolese circulation.

The 1913 Alfa Romeo referenced here was the company's first car produced under that name, following ALFA's acquisition by Nicola Romeo in 1915 — which creates a minor historical awkwardness the series never quite resolves.
