| Beschrijving keerzijde | A large ostrich rendered in fine relief dominates the central field, depicted in a naturalistic savannah landscape with sparse vegetation, scattered trees, and rolling hills. A second ostrich is visible in the middle distance to the right, partially obscured by the terrain, conveying depth and perspective. A full sun or moon is depicted in the upper centre against a mirror-polished sky field. The legend ENDANGERED WILDLIFE arcs along the upper rim in raised Latin lettering. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
The Democratic Republic of the Congo has issued commemorative coinage almost continuously since the Mobutu era ended in 1997, frequently licensing designs through European minting intermediaries — particularly the Mint of Poland and B.H. Mayer's Kunstprägeanstalt — aimed squarely at the thematic collector market rather than circulation. This ostrich issue falls squarely into that production model.
