The Democratic Republic of the Congo has issued a long-running series of wildlife-themed collector coins, most produced under contract by European mints and sold entirely to the numismatic market rather than circulated domestically. The "Crocodile" issues are among the more frequently encountered types from this program.
Silver-plated copper rather than sterling throughout — worth noting for long-term storage, as the base metal is prone to bleed-through at high-wear points over time.
