正面描述 Central vignette of a young male worker holding a hammer, modelled on Mihály Pfeffer, a pressman employed at the Banknote Printing Office who served as the live model for the illustration. The figure is rendered in an intaglio style consistent with the social-realist aesthetic of the immediate post-war Hungarian republic. Denomination numerals and bank title appear in letterpress within ornamental guilloche borders.

备注

Hungary's postwar monetary reconstruction moved fast. The pengő had collapsed in the worst hyperinflation ever recorded — peak monthly inflation exceeded 41 quadrillion percent in July 1946 — and the forint was introduced on 1 August 1946 as its replacement, with an exchange rate of 400,000 quadrillion pengő to one forint. This 10 Forint note belongs to the inaugural forint series issued that same day.

Endre Horváth, one of Hungary's most accomplished graphic artists of the period, designed the series domestically. Printing in Budapest rather than abroad was a deliberate political and economic signal — the new currency was to be a Hungarian production from the outset.
