Obverse description Within a raised central circle, the denomination '١٠' (10) appears above the word 'فلوس' (Fils) in Arabic script. Surrounding the central circle, a wide annular field carries the legend 'الجمهورية العراقية' (Republic of Iraq) along the upper arc and the inscription 'احيا بابل اثريا واجب وطني وقومي وانساني' (The restoration of Babylon is a national, civic, and humanitarian duty) along the lower arc, all in stylised Arabic script. The entire design is contained within a twelve-notch scalloped flan with a polished proof-quality finish.

Reverse description A detailed frontal view of the Ishtar Gate of Babylon occupies the central field, depicted with its twin crenellated towers flanking a central arched entrance, decorated with stylised relief ornaments. Flanking the gate on either side are trees rendered in low relief, evoking the ancient landscape of Babylon. The Hijri date '١٤٠٢هـ' and the Gregorian date '١٩٨٢م' appear in Arabic numerals along the upper arc of the scalloped flan. The proof surface shows strong contrast between the mirrored fields and the frosted relief of the architectural design.
