Obverse description Bare-headed effigy of the young King Faisal II facing left, depicted as a child with finely rendered hair detail, occupying the central field of the scalloped flan. The portrait is rendered in high relief with naturalistic modelling of the facial features and ear. The Arabic legend 'فيصل الثاني' (Faisal II) appears to the right of the portrait and 'ملك العراق' (King of Iraq) to the left, both inscriptions running vertically along the inner edge of the scalloped border.
