This note belongs to the flood of local emergency currency — szükségpénz — that appeared across Hungary in 1919 as the postwar collapse of the Austro-Hungarian krone system made small change effectively unobtainable. Industrial firms, cooperatives, and municipal bodies all printed their own, and Székesfehérvár was no exception. That a gas and chemical works felt compelled to issue fractional paper is a precise measure of how completely the monetary infrastructure had disintegrated.

The Adamo catalogue reference MSZK#SZF-1.1 places this among the earliest documented issues from the firm, suggesting it was produced in the first wave of the crisis rather than as a secondary supplement.
