Incorporated within the pavement to the left are the two-letter initials of the six original signatory nations: BE (Belgium), DE (Germany), IT (Italy), FR (France), LU (Luxembourg), and NL (the Netherlands). The date 2007 appears in the lower field below the pavement, and twelve stars of the European Community form a partial arc along the upper rim.
