附加信息

Part of Austria's long-running "Federal Provinces" series, this issue represents Tirol — a province whose boundaries were permanently severed by the 1919 Treaty of Saint-Germain-en-Laye, which handed South Tyrol to Italy over the bitter objection of its German-speaking population. That territorial wound remained politically raw for decades, only partially addressed by the 1972 autonomy package and formally closed, at least diplomatically, when Italy issued its declaration of fulfilled obligations in 1992.

The Austrian Mint struck these in copper-clad format as collectibles rather than circulation pieces, a distinction that matters for surface preservation.
