She holds the American flag extended at arm's length, her outstretched grasp conveying a sense of freedom and pride, while a bald eagle soars at her side. A multitude of stars fills the background field, intertwining to evoke the union of the American states. The composition is the work of engraver Joaquin Jimenez, who imparts a determined and proud expression to the figure. The design serves as a counterpart to the obverse Sower, together celebrating the historic friendship between France and the United States. |
