| 正面描述 | The obverse depicts the famous Lindwurmbrunnen (Lindworm Fountain) of Klagenfurt, rendered in fine relief. The central field features the large dragon figure reclining atop the ornate fountain basin, its open jaws prominently displayed, with the city's historic skyline — including a distinctive tower — visible in the background. To the right stands a heroic male figure, echoing the original fountain sculpture. A decorative scroll banner inscribed LINDWURMBRUNNEN arches above the dragon, with the date 2011 positioned in the mid-field. The encircling legend reads REPUBLIK ÖSTERREICH, and the denomination 10 EURO appears in the lower exergue. |

This coin belongs to Austria's "Land der Hämmer" silver series, which used regional legends and folklore to anchor each issue to a specific Austrian province. The Lindworm of Klagenfurt — a dragon-like creature whose skull, displayed in the city's town hall since the 16th century, was long believed to be genuine — gave Carinthia's capital its founding myth: the beast terrorized settlers until it was trapped in a pit baited with a chained bull.
The skull is now identified as a Pleistocene woolly rhinoceros.
