| Reverse description | The reverse features a naturalistically rendered spray of roses in high relief, comprising one fully open bloom and one budding rose joined by a thorned stem with detailed foliage, set against a mirror-polished field. The left portion of the field is overlaid with a vibrant red coloring applied to a repeating decorative rose-and-leaf pattern reminiscent of traditional folk textile motifs, creating a striking contrast between the polished silver relief elements and the enamelled ornamental background. Additional colored rose medallions appear in the lower corners, further enriching the decorative composition. The reverse field is otherwise unlettered, allowing the floral imagery to dominate. The design is the work of engraver Anna Rastl and forms part of the Austrian Mint's celebrated 'Language of Flowers' collector series. |
