| 裏面の説明 | The central field features the official pad-printed purple-coloured logo of Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee, depicting a stylised crown composed of interlocking cursive lines with the numeral 70 incorporated at its apex, rendered in silver against a vivid purple background. The jubilee emblem fills a circular coloured area occupying most of the reverse field. The legend THE QUEEN'S PLATINUM JUBILEE curves along the upper periphery, while the denomination 10 EURO appears in the lower field, all separated by raised dot stops. The design is framed by a raised outer rim. |

Malta's decision to issue a commemorative marking a British monarch's jubilee reflects the island's particular constitutional history — it remained a Crown Colony until 1964, and the relationship with the Crown lingered in public memory long after independence. Elizabeth II had visited Malta multiple times, most notably in the early 1950s when Prince Philip was stationed there with the Mediterranean Fleet, and the island held genuine affection for her that most Commonwealth republics could not claim.
The Platinum Jubilee marked 70 years on the throne — a reign that outlasted Malta's entire existence as an independent state by eight years.
