Reverse description The denomination 10 EURO is prominently displayed in the central field, flanked symmetrically by branches of laurel and oak, traditional symbols of honor and civic virtue. Three hexagonal motifs — evoking the hexagonal shape of France — surround the central device. The French republican motto LIBERTÉ ÉGALITÉ FRATERNITÉ is inscribed along the upper legend, with the year of issue 2012 appearing in the field.

Additional information

Part of the 2012 "Régions de France" series, in which the Monnaie de Paris issued a coin for each of metropolitan France's then-22 administrative regions. The series used .500 fineness rather than the more common .925, a deliberate production economy that kept retail prices accessible while maintaining legal tender status under French monetary law.
