正面描述 The obverse features a photographic reproduction of a portrait of Pablo Picasso, depicted in a white sweater within his studio Le Fournas in Vallauris, captured by photographer Edward Quinn in 1953. Picasso's facsimile signature appears to the right of the portrait in the field. The legend around the design includes the denomination, issuing country, mint mark, and year of issue. The composition reflects a documentary photographic aesthetic rendered in fine detail on the coin's surface.

附加信息

Issued as part of Spain's ongoing art-themed commemorative program, this coin honors Mujer en Azul, painted by Picasso in 1901 and long presumed lost before its rediscovery in a Madrid depot in 1940 — it had been submitted to a national competition that year, won no prize, and was subsequently forgotten in storage. The Museo Reina Sofía has held it since the institution's founding.

Picasso himself reportedly disowned the work for years. It dates to his pre-Cubist period, painted during his second stay in Paris.
