| Obverse description | The national coat of arms of Malta occupies the central field, depicting a quartered shield bearing the George Cross and vertical stripes, surmounted by a mural crown with five visible towers. The shield is flanked by an olive branch to the left and a palm branch to the right, tied at the base by a ribbon scroll bearing the legend REPUBBLIKA TA' MALTA. The country name MALTA appears as a left-reading arc in the upper left field, and the date 2021 arcs along the upper right, both set against a frosted inner field.
