| Obverse description | The obverse features a commemorative scene depicting mountaineers Ivan Fiala and Michal Orolín at the summit of Nanga Parbat following their historic 1971 ascent; the two figures are shown holding an ice axe from which the Czechoslovak flag is suspended, while Fiala clutches the karabiner he would leave at the summit as a token of the achievement. The composition is rendered in a bold relief style with strong figurative detail. Along the lower portion of the field, the legend SLOVENSKO identifies the issuing country. To the lower left of the country name, the denomination 10 and currency designation EURO appear stacked vertically, while to the lower right, the year of issue 2021 is inscribed alongside the Slovak coat-of-arms. |
