| Additional information |
Part of the Monnaie de Paris' long-running "Mickey Mouse" series issued under license from Disney, this piece belongs to a subset celebrating French regions — here, Occitanie, the vast southern administrative region created only in 2016 by the merger of Languedoc-Roussillon and Midi-Pyrénées. The series drew predictable criticism from purists; a French state mint producing low-silver billon collectibles themed around an American cartoon character struck many collectors as an odd use of official coinage authority.
The .333 fineness is notably low for a commemorative silver issue, placing it closer to historical trade silver than modern collector standards.
