Part of the Monnaie de Paris' ongoing "Mickey Mouse Through the Centuries" series, this issue places the character into the visual language of medieval French Gothic architecture — a collaboration between Disney and the Paris mint that has run across multiple years and artistic registers. The series was conceived partly to drive collector interest in billon-composition circulation-adjacent pieces at a price point accessible to non-specialist buyers.
At .333 fine, the silver content is modest by commemorative standards, closer to medieval billon tradition than modern bullion coinage.
