| 正面描述 | The central field bears the National Coat of Arms of Malta, depicting a quartered shield charged with a George Cross and vertical stripes, surmounted by a mural crown with five towers. The shield is flanked by a wreath of olive and palm branches, with a scroll below bearing the legend REPUBBLIKA TA' MALTA in relief. The country name MALTA appears in the upper left field and the date 2025 to the upper right, both set against a frosted background. The entire design is framed by a ring of twelve five-pointed stars in the outer border, referencing the European Union. |

Malta's railway — the Ferrovia — ran for barely 40 years before closing in 1931, a victim of poor finances and roads increasingly suited to motor vehicles. The line connected Valletta to Mdina, passing through several rock-cut tunnels bored directly into the island's characteristic globigerina limestone. Those tunnels still exist, repurposed as pedestrian routes and storage, which is more than can be said for the track itself.
This issue belongs to a collector series documenting Maltese transport heritage, with the tunnel motif chosen partly because it is the most physically intact remnant of the entire railway.
