Additional information

Part of Austria's ongoing folk costume series, this issue joins a run of coins celebrating traditional regional dress that the Austrian Mint has used to market silver bullion-adjacent collectibles to domestic and tourist audiences since the early 2000s. The Lederhose itself is Bavarian and Tyrolean in origin, with documented use as working garment in Alpine regions going back to at least the 18th century before becoming codified as ceremonial dress.
