| Reverse description | The Little Prince stands on the famous Place du Tertre in the Montmartre district of Paris, posing as a seated painter renders his portrait on canvas. The iconic white-domed Basilica of the Sacré-Cœur is depicted in the background, establishing the Parisian setting. The scene is rendered in a detailed illustrative style faithful to Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's original character. A curved legend appears in the field referencing the Little Prince's journey. |

| Additional information |
Part of the long-running Monnaie de Paris *Petit Prince* series, this issue draws on the 1943 Antoine de Saint-Exupéry novella published first in New York — Saint-Exupéry was in American exile at the time, unable to return to an occupied France. The billon composition, at only .333 fine, places this firmly in the collectible-but-affordable tier the series was designed to occupy, with face value largely ceremonial.
KM#2305 is one of several thematic variants from the 2016 run pairing the character with artistic subjects.
