| 背面描述 | The reverse presents a detailed architectural rendering of the facade of La Castellania, the historic baroque building in Valletta, Malta, originally constructed by the Knights of St. John as the Palace of Justice. The multi-storey facade is depicted in fine relief, featuring pilasters, arched doorways, decorative cornices, and a prominent central cartouche at the roofline. The inscription LA CASTELLANIA curves along the upper portion of the field, while a ring of twelve European Union stars flanks the building on either side. The denomination 10 EURO is inscribed in bold lettering within a framed panel at the lower center of the design. |

La Castellania, the ornate baroque building on Merchants Street in Valletta, served as the seat of the Order of St. John's civil and criminal court system from its construction in the 1750s. The Order used it to adjudicate disputes among the Maltese population until the French under Napoleon dissolved the Knights' administration in 1798 — ending over two centuries of Hospitaller governance on the island in a matter of days.
