| Reverse description | The reverse presents a finely modelled portrait of the Slovak children's author and illustrator Krista Bendová facing slightly to the right, occupying the greater part of the field with naturalistic detail in her facial features and short hair. Behind her to the left, an open book is depicted in relief, its pages showing an illustrated scene with a figure carrying an alphabet board and a seated child — an allusion to her literary and artistic legacy. The engraver's monogram 'N' with a small rosette appears at lower left of the book vignette. The inscriptions KRISTA BENDOVÁ and the life dates 1923–1988 are incused along the lower rim in a curved legend. |
