Additional information

Juno Beach was assigned to the 3rd Canadian Infantry Division on 6 June 1944 — the only Commonwealth beach where a predominantly non-British national force led the assault. Canadian casualties in the first hours were the second-highest of any Allied beach that day, exceeded only by Omaha. The Monnaie de Paris has issued a beach-specific series for the 80th anniversary, treating each of the five landing zones as a discrete subject rather than collapsing the operation into a single commemorative.
